One of the keystone features of ORC scoring is accurate sail measurement. It is critical that you have your sails accurately measured so the data that appears in your final ORC certificate is accurate. Your sails can be measured at any bona-fide loft (Quantum, Ullman, North, etc). Make sure you get an official measurement document that contains the necessary data and that it is signed by the individual that does the measurement. Please be aware that once you get your certificate, your measurement information will be posted on the ORC web site for any competitor to review. If you are using sails that are oversized or have not been measured you will be open to protest or disqualification by another competitor or by the Organizing Authority that is supporting the event. You may also be open to sanction by US Sailing if you are using sails that are not listed in your final ORC certificate.
